The comedian has been open about her love of yoga, and says she prefers hatha yoga to more intense styles. She told Shape, “I first started doing power yoga in L.A., which really makes no sense. Power yoga? It’s the opposite of what it should be. Yoga should calm you down!”
In addition to its stress-busting powers (stress = a major culprit in premature aging), a regular yoga practice builds lean muscle mass and can prevent weight gain.
She lives life to the fullest
Age is nothing but a number, and Degeneres knows it. As she recently told Good Housekeeping, “In some ways, that number doesn’t even compute. I can’t even believe I’m going to be 60 — I’m so immature; I’m like a child.”
When it comes to longevity, laughter really is the best medicine. Study after study has shown that laughter actually has major health benefits, from strengthening your immune system to decreasing the production of stress hormones like cortisol.
DeGeneres’s zest for life probably has something to do with how young she looks.
